Susan Jolly was kept in the dark of what was happening on the Purple People Bridge in Newport on Friday night where many friends and family had gathered on the occasion of her 60th birthday.
Her husband, Barry Jolly, and children had secretly planned a surprise birthday party – with a very special gift.
In honor of Susan’s giving spirit, the family launched the Out of Our Hands Foundation, with Jolly Enterprises making the first contribution of $25,000.
Susan Jolly will serve as director of the organization.
“Over the years, I’ve watched Susan so many times see someone in need and jump right into action to get them help. It may of been by providing transportation, offering financial assistance, or just bringing over a home cooked meal,” Barry Jolly said of his wife. “Out of Our Hands’s mission is to continue that work and provide help and resources to individuals who are caught in a situation that is out of their hands.”
