WHY THE SUDDEN HATRED TOWARDS FLORIDA?

Well first off, it’s not sudden. If you’re honest, you’ve never really liked this place called Florida. Sure, some parts are nice but it’s Florida, I mean they have their own meme for all of the crazy shenanigans that happen there. It’s just not a good place people.

Secondly, Winter can be a tough season for pipes.  They can freeze, they can bust and in general cause some significant destruction. That’s why over the next month, we’re going to try to convince you that this region of Greater Cincinnati is a better option than Florida.

Well done. You have made Pete Rose, Jerry Springer, William Taft and Harambe proud! However, your pipes are still not completely out of the woods. It might be 60 degrees tomorrow but this is Cincinnati, the day after we’ll be looking at a -3 degree windchill.

If the temps do unexpectedly drop out like UC in the NCAA tourney every year our CEO has you covered with some tips on how to keep those pipes safe.

I’M NOT CONVINCED.

Read below.

We get it. That sweet sunshine in January is just too alluring. You’ve already told your buddies you would be down again this year. Florida is happening no matter how great Cincinnati is.

We’re still here for you. Below are some great tips for if you do decide to leave this sweet promise land we call the Queen City.

  • Keep your heat on, just around 50-55 Degrees.
  • Turn off your water from your main shut off valve and open up your drain lines.
  • Turn off your gas line
  • Make sure windows and doors are securely closed.
  • Unplug all non essential electric items.
  • Have a buddy check in on the house if temps do drop.
  • Stop/Forward your mail to someone else.
  • Make sure your sump pump is functioning.
  • Close your damper if you have a fireplace

Wherever you go, be safe and have fun.
