5 Biggest Benefits Of A Tankless Water Heater

by | Jan 25, 2021 | Water Heaters

Have you ever thought, maybe my lawn would like hot water instead of just regular cold tap water? Well, now that’s possible with a tankless water heater. Okay, that’s a pretty bad reason to have unlimited and on demand hot water but still, if it’s the flex you want in your life, go for it. There are some actual massive benefits to having and endless supply of hot water though, and here are what we believe are the top 5.

1. Endless Showers

It’s a known fact that some of your best ideas come from the shower. We truly believe that if everyone had tankless water heaters, most of the world’s problems would be solved within a few months. Imagine what you can let your mind work through with consistent 20 minute showers. Hey but, what about your spouse? You just solved world hunger but now they need to take a shower to figure out this climate change stuff. No problem with a tankless. Solve away friends, solve away.

2. Efficiency

Typically, this is the first on the list but let’s be honest, even the most environmentally-conscious person will take a nice long shower over efficiency. The nice thing here though is, you don’t have to choose. Your typical tank water heater is constantly heating the water, whether you’re home using it or not. Tankless water heaters however only heat water when you call for it. That means less electric is being used which means your monthly bill just got a little lower. We’re not going to promise a dramatic change, but in some cases, that’s possible.

3. Lifespan

On average, tankless water heaters last 5 to 10 year longer than a traditional tank water heater. In our area, tank water heaters last around 6-10 years. With the proper care and maintenance, tankless heaters could last up to 20 years. So while the price is a little more, you could potentially have to get your tank water heater replaced twice before your tankless would go out.

4. Maintenance

Tank water heaters have a lot going on, they are bulky (more on that next) and since they are constantly working, more things can go wrong. If you have hard water that’s when problems really can start to occur. With tankless however, it is easy to flush the system and clean it out. Plus, it’s easier to diagnose since it is all right in front of you.

5. Space

One of my 2 year olds favorite things to do when we go to my in-laws is to go downstairs so he can see “Thomas The Train.” It’s not that they have a cool train set, it’s because he thinks their water heater looks like a steam engine, and in some ways he isn’t wrong. Tank water heaters are big and they take up a lot of space. If you don’t want to have to dedicate an entire room or closet you don’t have too. Tankless water heaters look a little like an oversized breaker box and sit flush with the wall. Take back your basement from Thomas the Train!

I hope you now understand how great having an on demand, tankless hot water heater in your home could be. Really though, I just hope you don’t use it to water your lawn.
